Artist's Statement: "The dainty figurine is a recent acquisition, a WW2-era made in Japan trinket. She was decorated as a "lady of the evening," showing off her red petticoat, and her battered face, not a typical look for a 'tchotchke.' The title of the painting is an obvious reference to the little pitcher itself, however if you imagine her lobbing the crystal ball or marbles at her unseen antagonist, she could also be a Little Pitcher. I enjoyed finding a place to tuck in one of my grandfather's old trout line spools, an authentic relic from 1920s Massachusetts."
